Parties prepare to battle over 150 councils across the country

Voters in England will take to the polls on 3 May, providing local government’s first major test of public opinion since last year’s snap General Election.

Some 4,370 ward seats across 150 councils are up for grabs this year, with major political battles developing in London, Birmingham, Dudley and Trafford.
