Plan to put poor performing kids’ services in trust slammed

Conservative manifesto plans to strip children’s services responsibilities from the ‘weakest councils’ have been attacked as a ‘short-sighted and inefficient response to under-performance’.

The manifesto said Conservatives would ‘demand all local authorities be commissioners of the highest-quality family support and child protection services,’ with those services that fail to meet such expectations placed ‘in trust’.
