Plea to fund social care through insurance

A minister has been asked to consider mandatory insurance to ease social care funding pressures in coastal towns.

Conservative MP Huw Merriman, who represents the Bexhill and Battle constituency on the south coast, said social care and council tax bills were impacted by retired people moving to seaside towns.
