Porter: Rates retention will end in tears

The move to 100% business rates retention will ‘end in tears,’ the chairman of the Local Government Association (LGA) has predicted.

Speaking at the LGA’s finance conference today, Gary Porter said the new system would lead to winners and losers, which would prompt a row.
