Promising the earth, but are they fit for the future?

The General Election manifestos are, finally, all out – just two-and-a-half weeks before the nation goes to the polls.

And the upshot is...not very much really. The trick, it seems, is to lay out your stall on Brexit, pledge the earth for public services when you really mean the health service, and try to avoid talking too much about adult social care. Keep it vague and hope the soundbites carry you through.
