Property purchases will net £1.6m for district council

Basildon BC could eventually spend £80m buying up property across the UK to generate £1.6m a year, councillors will be told.

Officers have asked members to agree a new commercial asset acquisition strategy, which aims to ‘generate and secure a long-term sustainable income stream for the council’.
