Public health grant ‘effectively a cut’

Public health directors have said the ‘tiny increase’ in this year’s grant will be vastly outweighed by increased costs.

The minister for public health, Maggie Throup, announced the 2022-23 public health grant will total £3.4bn, a 2.8% increase in cash terms.
