Pursuing devo deal would have damaged council's credibility, says leader

Lancashire CC rejected the idea of a combined authority last month because pursuing it in the absence of unanimous support from all councils in the area would have damaged the council’s credibility with the Government, leader Geoff Driver has said.

Lancashire CC, and Wyre, Ribble Valley and Fylde BCs, declared themselves out of any negotiations to secure a deal from central government, leaving 11 councils in the lurch.
