Raise more taxes to fund social care, report urges

The Government should consider increasing national insurance contributions and inheritance tax to plug the social care funding gap, a new report has urged.

Research by the Institute for Public Policy Research (IPPR) think-tank and charity Independent Age found that a 1% increase in National Insurance could raise £5bn immediately.
