The poorest authorities should be protected from cuts imposed on them by a ‘failed’ mechanism, metropolitan councils have told MPs.
In a submission to the communities and local government committee, the Special Interest Group of Municipal Authorities (SIGOMA) claimed the current redistribution mechanism was not working.
