Regeneration schemes need to be about more than bricks and mortar

The first plans for one of the biggest and most ambitious housing regeneration schemes in London have now been submitted. It marks a significant step forward for the project in Havering, which will see a joint venture partnership between Havering Council and Wates Residential deliver around 3,000 homes over the next 12 to 15 years.

Like many places in London, we knew we needed to build more homes. Havering is the 10th fastest growing borough in the capital, with our unique location on the border with Essex and great transport links serving young couples and families. For us, regeneration needed to be about providing the homes our local community needs.
