Right to Buy ‘will deplete social housing stock’

Housing chiefs have condemned mooted Conservative manifesto plans to extend the Right to Buy scheme to housing association tenants for compounding existing problems.

The comments follow claims a revamped Right to Buy could form a cornerstone of the Conservative Party’s attempts to woo skilled working-class voters in key campaign constituencies – efforts that could involve ‘gifting’ tenants their homes in exchange for securing long-term work.
