‘Risky’ chief exec plan a step closer for Lancs

Lancashire CC has pushed ahead with an ‘expensive and risky’ plan to replace its chief executive’s post with a combined senior position including s151 responsibilities, opposition councillors have warned this week.

Lancashire’s Conservative leader, Cllr Geoff Driver, last week reprised his stalled plan to save £250,000 annually by overhauling the county’s senior management team. It followed a 2016 report by consultancy PwC, which found Lancashire faced a £398m deficit by 2020/21.
