SOLACE: Peer reviews should be made mandatory and transparent

Council chief executives have suggested that the Local Government Association’s (LGA) peer reviews should be made ‘mandatory and transparent as they were originally intended to be’.

The idea was put forward by the Society of Local Authority Chief Executives (SOLACE) as a way of improving the traffic light-style financial resilience index proposed by the Chartered Institute of Public Finance and Accountancy (CIPFA).
