STPs not engaging councils

NHS England should require sustainability and transformation partnerships (STP) to work with health and wellbeing boards (HWB) to develop a truly preventative public health system, new research has urged.

The report published by the NLGN think-tank said that the STPs were too focused on communicating with the NHS but did not engage sufficiently with HWBs, which are made up of council and public health representatives.
