Scotland to consult on tourist tax

The Scottish Government will consult on the benefits of enabling councils to charge tourist taxes.

In a speech to tourism industry figures, First Minister Nicola Sturgeon said that although the devolved government had no plans to introduce a tourism tax, it would carry out a consultation on the issue.
