The Scottish government is to provide an extra £35m to local councils in order to fund the building of more affordable homes this year than originally envisaged.
The new money will boost total spend during 2018-19 to £568m. In addition, further increases are planned over the next two years, rising to £591m in 2019-20 and £630m in 2020-21. This will raise total investment to £1.79bn over the three years.
