Secondments stall after Government drops support

A drive to increase secondments between central and local government has stalled after the Cabinet Office backed away from supporting the programme. 

Smith Square had hoped to create at least 20 secondment opportunities by March 2018 but a Local Government Association (LGA) report said progress had stalled as a result of the Cabinet Office 'withdrawing support for this as a priority'.
