Spending by English councils on trading services has ‘increased significantly’ over the last four years, according to the latest statistics from the Ministry of Housing, Communities and Local Government (MHCLG).
The MHCLG’s statistical release said the amount rose from £323m in 2014/15 to £2.9bn in 2017/18.
