With seven years of austerity-related headlines about local council cuts, alongside high profile service failures in crucial areas, it is hardly surprising that, according to a 2015 survey, 95% of local government staff feel stressed at work and councils struggle to recruit in key professions.

Sutton faces similar challenges, although our staff have coped brilliantly with the challenge of delivering more for less.

Between 2010/11 and 2019/20 the council will have made efficiency savings of £93m, or approximately 6% each year.
