Social care heads warned to prepare for Care Act demands

Social care managers should fully understand their new legal duties under the Care Act and prepare for increased demand for advocacy services, delegates to the National Children and Adult Services Conference will be told this week.

Simon Galczynski, service director for adults social care at Islington LBC, will urge social care commissioners to follow a best practice guide issued by the Social Care Institute for Excellence, which outlines how councils can fully comply with the Care Act to secure best value and outcomes.
