Social rent home building drops 12%

Just under 6,000 new social rent homes were delivered in England last year, new Government statistics have revealed.

The number between March 2020 and April 2021 is a 12% decrease on the previous 12 months and represents a drop of 85% from ten years ago.

In 150 local authorities (45%) no social homes were built at all last year.
