South Gloucestershire handed improvement notice

The Government has issued an improvement notice to South Gloucestershire Council following concerns about its children’s services.

An adviser will be appointed by education secretary Nadhim Zahawi and the council has been ordered to draw up an improvement plan to be overseen by a board with an independent chair.
