Spring cleaning the accounts

Spring is here. It may not seem like it if you look out the window, but the urge to respond to a call to action over ‘de-cluttering’ (or spring cleaning) is upon us. It has been an issue that finance teams have been grappling with for some time: how to de-mystify the complexity of local authority accounts, so that not only finance professionals can understand them.

We have just been through serious ‘de-cluttering’ of our budget, setting out reports to make them easier to read.

We took time to tell the story of where we have been and where we are going financially and made better use of tables and graphs to get the right messages across.
