Steelworks: procurement policy ‘too little too late’

The MP for an area that lost its steelworks has accused the Government of trying to ‘pass the buck’ to councils to save the industry.

Anna Turley, Labour MP for Redcar and a member of the all-parliamentary group on steel, said the change in government procurement policy to support UK firms was ‘too little too late’.
