Stockport to act as improvement partner for struggling neighbour

Tameside MBC councillors have been urged to form a children’s services improvement partnership with neighbouring Stockport MBC amid concerns progress in the borough has been too slow.

Ofsted rated the borough inadequate in 2016, prompting the Department for Education (DfE) to introduce improvement advisers and the council to form an independent improvement board.
