Conservative local government minister Rishi Sunak has questioned the current model of outsourcing in the wake of Carillion’s collapse.
Amid snowballing signs that authorities are rethinking partnerships with outsourcing giants, Mr Sunak told the Chartered Institute of Public Finance and Accountancy (CIPFA) annual conference in Bournemouth last week that Carillion’s collapse ‘shines a spotlight on outsourcing and whether it makes sense’.
