A former chairman of the Local Government Association has urged council pension funds to get off the sidelines and start investing in infrastructure.
Sir Merrick Cockell, who is now chairman of the London Pensions Fund Authority, said a ‘significant number’ of other schemes were ‘watching on the sidelines’.
