The introduction of Tourism Tax in the UK – what could it mean for local councils?

As conversation heats up around Edinburgh potentially becoming the first city in the UK to introduce a tourism tax, it’s clear that the Scottish Government has a lot to consider before they make a legislative decision.

The tax, which would raise about £11m per annum for the capital, would be used to manage some of the impacts of the booming tourism sector in Edinburgh.
