Tired, but defiant, officials ready for polling day

Polling stations have opened their doors for the General Election today, with exhausted-but-defiant council officials prepared for security threats following a series of terror attacks.

Security has been beefed-up across the country in the aftermath of the attacks at London Bridge and the Manchester Arena.
