Tyne mayor calls for DfT shift to Newcastle

The North of Tyne’s mayor has called for the Department of Transport to be moved to Newcastle to prevent the region being neglected any longer.

Speaking at this week’s Labour Party conference in Brighton, Mayor Jamie Driscoll reportedly called for the Whitehall department to be moved north so the region could get a fair share of transport investment.
