Unison rejects pay offer in surprise vote

Unison has become the second local government union to reject the 2% pay offer proposed by employers.

The narrow rejection – understood to have been carried by just one vote - comes a week after rival union Unite urged employers to enter ‘meaningful’ pay negotiations after it called on its members to reject the offer.
