Whitehall and authorities clash over review on deprivation

The Government and the sector could be on a collision course over the approach the fair funding review takes towards deprivation.

It is believed the Department for Communities and Local Government (DCLG) has settled on a view that while deprivation affects the quantity of services councils need to provide it does not affect the cost of their delivery.
