Whitehall ‘dismissed’ councils’ concerns over Universal Credit

The Department for Work and Pensions (DWP) is ‘disturbingly adrift from the real-world problems’ caused by the Universal Credit rollout, a report by MPs has concluded.

Members of the Public Accounts Committee (PAC) also found that councils have been left out of pocket as DWP funding did not cover all the costs incurred by the rollout.
