Quite rightly, we are celebrating the NHS’s 70th birthday with much fanfare. I share in the joy that such a treasured institution has stood the test of time – so far.
Back in 1948 I dare say no one could have imagined the health service would look anything like it does today. The concept of ‘cradle to grave’ has withstood the test of time and that is something we should cherish.
