The proposed takeover of Monsanto by Bayer might not, at first sight, be seen as relevant to the public sector.

Monsanto produces seeds while Bayer makes crop protection chemicals. Similarly, the relevance to the public sector of the planned takeover of DuPont by Dow Chemicals, and the ChemChina’s proposed acquisition of Syngenta might not be immediately clear. They are, however, very relevant.
