Zahawi fails to commit to new funds

Children’s minister Nadhim Zahawi has declined to support strict targets and fresh cash for early intervention work to reduce the number of kids in care.

Despite intense Parliamentary pressure from MPs on the Education Committee last week, the minister would not be drawn on any financial commitment beyond budgets already agreed across local government.
