EXCLUSIVE: Lord Kerslake calls for independent commission on social care

The former head of the Civil Service, Lord Bob Kerslake, has called for an independent commission on health and social care to open up the debate on funding care with the public.

Speaking following his resignation as chair of the King’s College NHS Trust, in protest at a lack of suitable funding, Lord Kerslake told The MJ: ‘We have a system that simply is not funded to deliver what it is asked to do - that is true of both health and care.
