Councils have urged ministers to ‘change course’ as they push ahead with plans to make them produce improvement plans for some of their high streets.
The High Streets Bill, which is due to reach report stage in the House of Commons later this month, will require local authorities to designate high street areas and establish action plans to enhance those areas.
