A lifeline for vulnerable children

‘You feel you’re worth something.’ This was just one of many comments vulnerable young people made when we asked them how they felt about staying with a host family as part of a ‘supported lodgings’ scheme.

Leaving home can be particularly tough for children who have been in care. While UK youngsters leave home on average aged 25, 62% of looked-after children leave care at just 18. They all-too-often find themselves facing an adult world alone and unprepared.
