Chief inspector of schools, Sir Michael Wilshaw, has warned many multi-academy trusts (MATs) have been manifesting the ‘same weaknesses as the worst-performing local authorities’.
Sir Michael made the criticism in a letter to education secretary to Nicky Morgan following focused inspections of academies within some of the largest trusts.
