Barnet chief leaves after electoral 'shambles'

Barnet LBC chief executive Andrew Travers will leave the council after an election blunder meant scores of voters were turned away from polling stations.

A council spokesman said Mr Travers’ departure was decided ‘by mutual agreement’ following Thursday’s elections, which were branded a ‘shambles’ after the authority sent out the wrong electoral lists to all 155 of its polling stations.
