Partial funding victory for councils in final settlement

Councils scored a partial victory this week with an extra £74m for local welfare and social care from the Government.

Local government minister Kris Hopkins confirmed the proposed finance settlement for 2015/16 as announced in December in a written statement to the House of Commons on Tuesday.
