Call for focus on integrated care

Major changes to the commissioning of health services including pooling NHS and local authority care budgets will be needed to meet long-term fiscal pressures, a report from the respected think-tank The King’s Fund has urged.

In its response to last autumn’s five year forward view produced by NHS England, the fund says that ‘without significant change’ the plan will simply ‘suffer the fate of previous policy documents which have failed to deliver on their ambitions’.
