Children’s services facing ‘severe’ financial pressures

Two out of three county councils have warned their children’s services are facing ‘severe’ or ‘critical’ financial pressures.

A new report published by the County Councils’ Network (CCN) claimed demand for services was rising at an unprecedented rate, with a 30% increase in the number of children subject to child protection plans in the last two years.
