Councils urge Government not to delay waste reforms

Councils have urged the Government not to delay landmark environmental reforms that would shift the cost of collecting household waste from taxpayers to producers.

Industry bosses have reportedly used Downing Street crisis talks arranged in response to soaring food prices to warn that the plans – due to come into effect in April – would drive up shopping bills further amid the cost of living crisis.
