Councils warn of extra transparency burdens

Government plans to make councils publish more data should be applied across other parts of the public sector, town hall bosses have said.

In its official response to the Department for Communities and Local Government’s consultation on strengthening transparency, the Local Government Association (LGA), pointed out councils already published a ‘huge amount of information’.
