Counties and mets fight over settlement

A lobbying battle has broken out between Metropolitan and county councils in the wake of the local government finance settlement, The MJ understands. 

Last week county councils came out fighting after analysis of the figures showed they would lose funding far quicker than they expected – leaving many counties struggling financially.
