Adult social care is the biggest short and long-term pressure for council chiefs, an exclusive survey has found.
According to the survey by The MJ and the Local Government Information Unit (LGiU) think-tank, more than half (53.6%) named adult social care at the top of their list of long-term pressures on council finances while 43% said the same when asked about short-term pressures.
Adult social care was followed by housing and homelessness, which 23% named as their biggest short-term pressure and 21% chose as their main short-term pressure.
