EXCLUSIVE: DCLG leaves door open for delayed mayoral elections

The push to hold a wave of mayoral elections next year may be relaxed as part of a shift in the new government’s devolution policy, The MJ understands.

Nine areas have so far announced mayoral combined authority deals, with the first elections scheduled to take place in May 2017.
